Antiquorum presents first-class timepieces in Hong Kong auction
Following its highly successful spring auctions, Antiquorum’s upcoming June 7 sale of Important Collectors’ Watches, Pocket Watches & Clocks will present more than 400 exceptional timepieces. The catalogue features rare watches spanning several centuries of fine watchmaking, including brands such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, etc. Furthermore, a collection of several complicated pocket watches are to be sold without reserve.
The auction will be held at the Hong Kong Club Building on June 7. Among the highlights of the sale there is the fine and extremely rare Rolex, Oyster Perpetual Date “Comex” accompanied by a Comex knife and aqualung, estimated at CHF 150,000 to 200,000. Again for Rolex enthusiasts, a "Paul Newman" “Cosmograph Daytona", Ref. 6239 round button chronograph, with registers and tachometer, is estimated at CHF 40,000 to 60,000. Several Patek Philippe watches will be offered, such as the Ref. 5004, a white gold gentleman’s wristwatch with coaxial round button split-seconds chronograph, estimated at CHF 220,000 to 280,000. Presented at auction for the first time are the earliest known Patek Philippe watch made with alarm function, estimation CHF 15,000 to 25,000 and, again from Patek Philippe, the Early Dual Time Zone and perpetual calendar with indication of days only, with Rothschild provenance, estimation CHF 80,000 to 120,000. For pocket watch lovers, there is the very fine and rare “Regard your Father” attributed to Piguet & Meylan and made for the Chinese market circa 1825, with an estimation of CHF 40,000 to 60,000, as well as the “Ulysses’s Farewell” watch with enamel signed by Jean Francois Victor Dupont, estimated CHF 50,000 to 70,000. Many other very fine wristwatches, such as a Vacheron Constantin Tourbillon in stainless steel made in 10 examples only, a Patek Philippe “World Time” Ref. 1415 HU in yellow gold, and the IWC “Die Grosse Fliegeruhr” made for the German Air Force, will be on offer.
The watches will be shown in Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified, Ref. 1665. Accompanied by its original warranty, booklets, hang tags, and original fitted box. It is further accompanied by a Comex knife and aqualung.

Early Dual Time Zone & Perpetual Calendar with Indication of Days Only Very fine and exceptionally rare, early, independently adjustable two time zone, 18K gold and enamel, half-hunting cased, keyless pocket watch with perpetual calendar with indication of days only. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
Extremely fine and rare stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. Accompanied by the original box and certificate.

Regard Your Father Attributed to Piguet & Meylan, Geneva, No. 1485. Made for the Chinese market circa 1825. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, champlevé and painted on enamel, pearl-set, quarter-repeating, center-seconds pocket watch.

The Forge, Watch with Five Automaton Actions
Attributed to Esquivillon et Deschoudens à Genève, No. 25197. Made circa 1820. Very fine and extremely rare, quarter-repeating, 18K gold pocket watch with striking Jacks and an automaton scene of a forge with a total of five automaton actions.

Grande & Petite Sonnerie Clockwatch - Bulletin de l'Observatoire
Swiss, made for Hauser Zivy & Cie., Mexico-Paris, "La Esmeralda". Made circa 1900. Very fine and very rare, 18K gold, trip minute-repeating, two-train, grande and petite sonnerie keyless clockwatch, Bulletin de l'Observatoire obtained at the Observatory of Neuchatel in 1902.

Mirror Image Pair – Mother & Daughter Envay, Fleurier, Nos. 452 & 472. Made for the Chinese market circa 1870. Very fine and very rare, mirror-image pair of gilt, painted on enamel and pearl-set pocket watches, with center-seconds and duplex escapements.

The Earliest Known Patek Philippe Watch with Alarm
Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, No. 47878. Sold on April 4, 1881. Extremely fine and exceptionally rare and unusual, large, two-train, quarter-repeating, damascened silver and yellow gold, half-hunting cased, keyless pocket watch with alarm with two hammers; the earliest known Patek Philippe watch made with alarm function. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe & Co. rosewood fitted box, original Certificate of Origin, two spare mainsprings and spare crystal.
