When Corum takes to the Solent

The independent Corum watch brand re-confirms its relationship with Skandia Cowes Week that will take place from August 4th to 9th. For the third year running, associating Corum with one of the world’s most famous regattas.

Reinforcing its attachment to the world of sailing, Corum renews ties with its history and signals its commitment to this prestigious sport. The historical birthplace of the Admiral’s Cup; the Isle of Wight and Cowes have always been the brand’s favourite waters. As a major sponsor of the Admiral’s Cup, Corum has been inextricably bound up with sailing, even naming one of its major collections after the Cup.

Over 8500 sailors racing in over 1000 boats and representing more than 15 countries are expected to compete on the world-renowned stretch of sea; the Solent.

In 1955, CORUM established its brand headquarters and workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a key historical centre of the Swiss watch industry. Clearly positioned as an exclusive brand, CORUM offers high-quality watch collections featuring an innovative and distinctive design, and equipped with mechanical movements. Based on four key pillars (Admiral’s Cup, Romvlvs, Golden Bridge and Artisans), the collection comprises models at prices ranging from 5,000 to 1 million Swiss francs and give pride of place to precious metals and horological complications.

As official timekeeping supplier to Skandia Cowes Week, Corum flies the flag of watchmaking expertise and expresses its precision through marine watches and chronographs. Corum also rewards the top-performing sailors in each category by presenting them with an Admiral’s Cup watch, the brand’s flagship model distinguished by its twelve-sided bezel and its dial adorned with nautical pennants.

- The overall winner of the “white group” fleet will receive an Admiral’s Cup Challenge 44 featuring a steel case and white dial, powered by the self-winding Corum CO-7753 movement, chronometer-certified by the COSC.

- The overall winner of the “black group” fleet will receive the same model , but in a version clothed with a black dial.

- A special prize will be awarded as part of the celebrations on Liz Earle Ladies Day to the overall Ladies Day Trophy winner. It wille be an Admiral’s Cup 40 in steel equipped with a Corum CO-082 self-winding movement.
