Precious spinning tourbillons express the luminous DeWitt vision of Haute Horlogerie

Form and substance…

The two are inseparable within the rarified spheres of the Watchmaking Art. Since its birth in 2003, DeWitt has consistently striven to harmonise these twin poles and to merge them in a spirit of complete consistency dedicated to beauty and originality. Such is the manner in which DeWitt approaches each of its creations, from the apparently simplest to the most sophisticated.

The Haute Joaillerie collection by DeWitt remains the ultimate expression of this philosophy, especially when the most refined Grande Complication mechanisms lend these watches their unique cadence. It is guided by the absolute respect for the rules inherent to Fine Watchmaking, by an unquenchable thirst for innovation and by the use of exquisitely pure and precious touches of colour.

Whether it is interpreted in Mystérieux Squelette, Force Constante® or Différentiel® versions, the Tourbillon is crafted with inimitable innovation, artistry and know-how by the Maison DeWitt. Embodying a blend of precaution and talent, this legendary mechanism comes in a choice of three variations. It features a new principle of regulating forces that had remained unaltered since its invention over two centuries ago.

The sophisticated and patented technical solutions conceived by DeWitt may be adorned with spectacular gemstones in exclusively customised versions. Diamonds or rubies, white or red: absolute purity goes hand in hand with the exceptional intensity of the stones selected to highlight the most elaborate mechanisms.

The gems chosen by the Brand naturally meet the highest quality standards in the industry. All the gem-set parts of the case and buckle of Haute Joaillerie Tourbillon watches feature an impressive number of stones, exquisitely set along the caseband, bezel, lugs, crown and buckle - transforming the ultimate expression of the watchmaking art into a precious and luminous beam of light.

The cut of the stones, designed to reveal their sparkling facets, makes a major contribution to the stunning overall effect. In the baguette-cut version, the gems are distinguished by their size, since they may be as much as 7 millimetres large - a dimension that is the most difficult of all both to set and select in a strictly identical manner. Depending on the surface and the setting technique, the precious stones may be given a princess cut to further enhance their radiance. From cutting to gem-setting, the entire process of handling the precious stones takes almost six weeks.

Dancing with the light, the certified diamonds ranging from River to Top Wesselton colour and IF to VVS clarity form a truly amazing ensemble. It is extremely hard to find the appropriate rough batch of stones, comprising stones of this size that can serve to form such impressive baguettes. The so-called "pigeon's blood" rubies are from Myanmar, the best possible source. The major difficulty with this stone lies in the absolute necessity of having the perfect rough batch that is totally homogenous in terms of colour and free of any inclusions.

Clad in its dark livery, the black gold openworked bridges of the Tourbillon Mystérieux Squelette are adorned with diamonds, forming a diaphanous white veil running across the white gold case and surrounding the delicately hand-engraved and polished steel movement parts. The 141 stones total over 17 carats.

The Tourbillon Force Constante® with its spectacular patented mechanism that reinvents and improves the fundamental regulating principles, radiates in luminous splendour thanks to the rubies set into the caseband, bezel, crown and lugs. The brand signature bracelet buckle, also embellished with baguette-cut rubies, sets the perfect finishing touch. The 151 rubies adorning this model have a total carat weight of more than 17.6 carats.

Finally, the patented Tourbillon Différentiel®, winner of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in the innovation category, play on contrasts by marrying the colours of the openworked dial revealing the subtle intricacies of the mechanism with the pristine purity of 151 diamonds totalling more than 17 carats.
