| The most feminine form of mechanical watchmaking artistry, the Manero Monograph by Carl F. Bucherer is driven by passion, to capture and hold onto exceptional moments in time. It is the moment when a woman takes time for herself. For seconds, or minutes, all measured by the monograph. Unique in its construction, with a dial on three different levels, the Manero Monograph elevates watchmaking tradition to its artistic fulfilment. Once again, Carl F. Bucherer achieves the refined union of the finest of handcrafted watchmaking skills with a design stylishly transformed into a distinctly feminine expression. A brief look at the dial says it all. With the Manero Monograph, Carl F. Bucherer has succeeded in merging two independent, yet concentric worlds. There is feminine filigree harmonized with handcrafted mechanical features, and the convergence of mother-of-pearl and diamonds intertwined into the intricate complications of the three-dimensional dial, unique in its own right. In summary, as a further development of the Manero line, Carl F. Bucherer is presenting a watch that will make the heart of every observant lover of mechanical watches beat a few split seconds faster. The Manero Monograph is fitted with a complication rarely seen today: the Chronograph controlled via one single pusher. The French description “Chronographe à Monopoussoir” provided the inspiration for this watch. The point of this type of manipulation is that one does not notice the watch’s technical refinement at first glance, because the pusher is discreetly integrated in the winding-button. Just to produce this is already a technical masterpiece, because several manipulating elements are housed here in the narrowest of spaces. The watch is wound and set via the crown, while the pusher is responsible for the starting, stopping and resetting of the Chronograph. Remarkably, there are five functions all combined in one single place. Regarding the movement itself, Calibre CFB 1962 is an exclusive manufacture movement. The manual-winding calibre with a power reserve of 42 hours is expertly finished and rhodium-plated. It has a columnwheel to control the micro-timing. This complication, assembled according to all the rules of the art of fine watchmaking, guarantees not only smooth functioning, but is also a feast for the eyes and can be admired in all its finery through the exhibition sapphire crystal case back. The bezel of the elegant 35 mm diameter case in high-grade steel or red gold is, depending on the individual execution, set with 50 diamonds, whose magical sparkle attracts one’s gaze to the unique dial. The bracelet, made of reptile leather matching the colour of the dial, nestles seamlessly between the horns on the sides of the case. The dial constitutes the face of every watch. The Manero Monograph offers a completely different countenance, worthy of the handcrafted production finish of the watch movement itself. This, together with the full mechanical complexity, can be appreciated in three dimensions on the reverse side of the watch, without the slightest concession to overall visibility. The hands for the constantly operating small seconds and the 30-minute counter have two ends of different lengths, which are both equally functional. The hands accentuate the three-dimensional distribution of the dial, as they plunge under the bridge, which spans between 12 and 6 o’clock. On the manufacturing side, select materials such as sterling silver and natural mother-of-pearl are used, whose fathomless shimmering effect further emphasizes the dial’s spatial depth. All the indexes and numerals, as well as the graduations on the accessory dial level, are carefully mounted on the dial and contribute to the three-dimensional enhancement. The elegant sweep of the arc over the dial reflects the feminine form of the Alacria, cementing a connection with this graceful sister watch collection. The Manero Monograph makes bridge-building possible. It brings together two worlds – the world of complicated mechanics and that of sensual femininity. The symbol of this bridge-building – the dial’s sweeping curve – reminds us all that with each beautiful possession therein lies a world of complexity just waiting to be explored. Press release | |
