Audemars Piguet was singled out for two awards at the 7 Watchmaking Grand Prix, held at Geneva’s Grand Theatre on November 14. Le Brassus Manufacture received honours in the Sports and Design categories, winning over the jury with two outstanding timepieces: the Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Team chronograph and the Millenary watch with deadbeat seconds and AP escapement.

The Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix awards ceremony gave Audemars Piguet a chance to cement its reputation as a leading maker of sports watches since the 1972 release of the Royal Oak, the world’s first luxury sports watch. The Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Team—which combines the mechanical performance of a split- second chronograph with regatta countdown function, with the use of groundbreaking watchmaking materials in the form of forged carbon—was voted best Sports Watch 2007. Le Brassus Manufacture also won the Design award for its Millenary watch with deadbeat seconds.
