Perrelet as the inventor of the automatic movement* in 1777 is best known to watch connoisseurs the world over by its “mechanical prowess”. Automatic movements have always featured in all Perrelets including the entire ladies’ range. Particularly with ladies’ automatic watches Perrelet always believed that they are well suited for today’s active women. After all, the automatic timepiece tells the time and the active woman enables the watch to keep time. A perfectly symbiotic relationship!
Style dictates that a watch brimming with gems from the hands of the finest craftspeople should be powered by a mechanism that does the maison that signed the dial proud. This obdurate penchant for perfection will necessarily sublimate – even more absolutely so – the women who choose to wear a gem so consummate that its wealth reaches way beneath the surface. Celebrating a 150-year-long tradition of intensely creative endeavour prompted Boucheron to reinvigorate its fine watch-making flair and elevate it beyond time and on to eternity.
The connoisseur now faces a choice: one of the most exquisite watches in the world, the Grande Complication from IWC, is available in platinum, in yellow gold and now also in a rose gold case. But only in a limited series of 50 each year – in total. Maximum. For the master watchmakers in Schaffhausen, who are used to encountering tourbillons, perpetual calendar watches and minute repeating mechanisms on their workbenches, the Grande Complication remains the horological crowning glory.
Since its successful launch in 2006, Brasilia has been gracing the international watchmaking stage with its harmonious elegant lines, inherent chic, and inimitably soft, silky feel. Signature Ebel curves meet contemporary lines in a well proportioned rectangular case. Such a timelessly sophisticated design offering a fascinating play on perspective that is typical of the values cherished by the Architects of Time.
